Operational Policies and Procedures
Children of America operates educational childcare centers across the United States. Throughout the company’s existence, we have developed key policies and procedures from best practices within our own organizations and best practices from offices of licensing in the states in which we operate. During your training as an employee, you will be trained on various topics, including but not limited to authorized pick-ups/releases, attendance, movement logs, sign-in/out procedures, record-keeping policies and procedures, as well as specific business practices to ensure we provide a consistent COA Experience across all locations.
Educational Policies and Procedures
Children of America is not just any childcare company. We are an educational childcare company that believes that the heart of the COA experience is in our ability to deliver positive outcomes for our families and children in our care. During your training as an employee, we will tackle various topics, including but not limited to our educational philosophy and curriculum, how to manage common developmental behaviors like biting, positive support and inclusion as well as how to work with difficult children or developmental delays. We will also coach you on interpersonal skills, including parent communication, first-day expectations and child transitions.
Safety and Key Regulatory Policies and Procedures
It is the policy of COA to provide the highest possible level of safety in all operations. During your employee orientation you will be trained on various health and safety topics, including but not limited to bathroom security, emergency plans, handwashing policy, medication administration, transportation, vehicle inspection, abuse, neglect and mandated reporter policies, child illnesses/injury, playground safety and more.
Reference Guide
Throughout this handbook, we indicate that additional information about key topics is available through additional resources. It is common for an employee handbook to only touch on policies, guidelines and procedures at a basic level. That way we ensure every employee is familiar with how to locate the additional resources we have available.
